Upon entering the restaurant, I was surprised at how different it looked compared to the old location which was underground. The old location looked very traditional Japanese, while this new location looked like a modern fusion of east and west with tall ceilings and red seating. I like the new restaurant setting better.<br />

It was good, but not really good. I liked the California Roll as it tasted like there was some salad dressing on it which was unique. The one thing I didn't like was the rice in the sushi, it felt like they were "separated", I like it when the rice is more "sticky". The tuna sashimi was good, but I've had better in my opinion salmon sashimi at other places. It just didn't taste very fresh.<br />
<br />
Even so, overall I enjoyed the food. I would come here again but it is a bit pricy, so once in a while.<br />

On a tour around UBC, we stumbled upon this little cafe run by UBC Food Services inside the Museum of Anthropology. I've never gotten food from here before, but this time, I was so hungry that I couldn't resist. My expectations were: high prices, average food.<br />

They have this lunch combo which has a Salmon Chowder and a _____ (name of this slipped my mind at the moment). The Salmon Chowder was delicious! I enjoyed it so much that it convinced my two other friends to get one for themselves as well. It was thick and filled with veggies, potatoes and salmon. <br />

The staff there heat this up for you when you order it. I thought it would be bad because it is already pre-made. But after heating it up, it tasted really fresh. The bread was crispy and that made eating this "sandwich" easy. The red peppers and the lettuce (I think?) complemented the meat well.<br />
<br />
This UBC Food Service Cafe is better than the other ones.<br />

Decided that it was something I definitely needed to try!<br />
<br />
Went with my friend for lunch today. Upon entering the restaurant, I felt like I was in a Richmond restaurant, which is cool because we are in Downtown! It was quite spacious and comfy, dishes were sparkling clean because everything was new!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Took us forever to order because the menu was hhhhuuuugggeee. After around 15 minutes (!), finally decided on some items. In my mind, I wondered if it was enough food...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The first was the famous X<b>iao Long Bao (XLB!)</b> <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiaolongbao">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xiaolongbao</a>. There were different types of XLB on the menu, some filled with crab meat, some with pork, etc. We decided to get the pork ones. The skin was strong enough that I could pick them up with my chop sticks without puncturing them, I proceeded to eat them by biting a little skin off the side, and then slurping the meat juice right out, mmm delicious! XLB's were fresh, I would recommend this one.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPf1YtOAUBSavtV-F4gxPrI2YCv71wvAGUDnKHdyMQPjviO2uUJocQFGcKhhYXgibxJoE9SQbU1PHcplWC3q5Rln_8voy5tp65DJtb6xk7RybIqnxuBLIeygD2JoF_8YrvqOVJx_Zh6w/s1600/IMG_1822.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="370" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPf1YtOAUBSavtV-F4gxPrI2YCv71wvAGUDnKHdyMQPjviO2uUJocQFGcKhhYXgibxJoE9SQbU1PHcplWC3q5Rln_8voy5tp65DJtb6xk7RybIqnxuBLIeygD2JoF_8YrvqOVJx_Zh6w/s640/IMG_1822.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Next, we had the <b>Shanghai Stir-Fried Noodles</b>. I always get this dish when I'm at these sort of "northern" Chinese restaurants. This dish's signature is the amount of oil used to make it, it IS very oily, but I'm not eating this everyday. The noodles were smooth. The plate wasn't overly salty. Decent amount of thin pieces of pork. Would recommend this one also if you don't mind the oil.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd8Rfs6UfpgVUL6assQsLmgKxk7DMRHs2ynVglmDZPcTaWZkINDMn5CUJZwVtAK1Z2UApVdKZQJ99S2u3C3gk647r-PW_SnwedRiP7QVSOYVvxLDq0yU8c_YKaWADukBsFifyiE-wFbA/s1600/IMG_1824.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjd8Rfs6UfpgVUL6assQsLmgKxk7DMRHs2ynVglmDZPcTaWZkINDMn5CUJZwVtAK1Z2UApVdKZQJ99S2u3C3gk647r-PW_SnwedRiP7QVSOYVvxLDq0yU8c_YKaWADukBsFifyiE-wFbA/s640/IMG_1824.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
Was gonna get the sticky rice roll at first, but they did not have it. So decided to get this Cold Duck dish. It is not ice cold, but a warm temperature. I liked this one. The duck wasn't fat, only a thin slice of fat between the skin and the meat. The meat was just the right level of hardness. The sauce is a little sweet if I remember correctly, interesting. This one is a little pricy at $10, but it tastes good.<br />
<br />
The restaurant was quite busy in the lunch hour, interested to see how they will do in the future as right now, they basically own Downtown exclusively with this type and size of restaurant.<br />
<br />

It was my first time to this Joey, previously only been to the one on Broadway. I noticed most people were sitting outside as the weather was so perfect, I thought the restaurant was nicely decorated both inside and outside.<br />
<br />
We started off with some appetizers. <b>Calimari Fritto</b> and <b>Blazing Wings</b>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIVZAlXhVVOOkrJ8JQkFmQYdUiwozB7bIW0mpdOkZK4R8RDVsN-g3vxzZ4zBXVMynx4kryyVbLXoe82GXMXgnsI1_uGk2GZOXjDVSONQb1cPVkZaRCdra1S6HOKy1FT00efXS5JSwjxA/s1600/IMG_1791.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIVZAlXhVVOOkrJ8JQkFmQYdUiwozB7bIW0mpdOkZK4R8RDVsN-g3vxzZ4zBXVMynx4kryyVbLXoe82GXMXgnsI1_uGk2GZOXjDVSONQb1cPVkZaRCdra1S6HOKy1FT00efXS5JSwjxA/s400/IMG_1791.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkh8aYHszGmgXeKJDCOV2sezokjgQK_ZBiLIsKeyUx09Ifl_IHdTL_tWehrOydeaLuChKikNtEFlZvPZPhXvQ2AQuDulryfvl7m4_3H4tRFwUBrj18pCenZvfQImqf3a63VbS8QnR4ZA/s1600/IMG_1792.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhkh8aYHszGmgXeKJDCOV2sezokjgQK_ZBiLIsKeyUx09Ifl_IHdTL_tWehrOydeaLuChKikNtEFlZvPZPhXvQ2AQuDulryfvl7m4_3H4tRFwUBrj18pCenZvfQImqf3a63VbS8QnR4ZA/s400/IMG_1792.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
The Calimari was really good! I loved how I didn't have to tear the squid apart and it just breaks easily after biting it. It was also pretty crispy.<br />
<br />
The Blazing Wings were a little disappointing. They weren't really that spicy, and they were way too salty. If it was less salty, I would have liked them more. I've had better wings elsewhere.<br />
<br />
For the Entree, I got the <b>Lobster Ravioli. </b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMmtHi7RTxt9TOKYARB3aCSyqEXoSXolz1Vmg6xlYKs_AmGN5vMYbkzoGSkHdgQAY9DRNYYhKAQZpr-w4_W1Pio1yOkPbJ-Omha0TIerNL1tnQtvRlaWCVlQ5-5P-Of4IVioPa5L8BUA/s1600/IMG_1796.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMmtHi7RTxt9TOKYARB3aCSyqEXoSXolz1Vmg6xlYKs_AmGN5vMYbkzoGSkHdgQAY9DRNYYhKAQZpr-w4_W1Pio1yOkPbJ-Omha0TIerNL1tnQtvRlaWCVlQ5-5P-Of4IVioPa5L8BUA/s400/IMG_1796.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<b> </b>I enjoyed this one, I liked the "mashed" lobster inside the ravioli, it sort of tasted like potato! The taste was just right, not too salty. I wish it was a little bit more "lobsterey" though, ie. lobster meat on the side, now THAT would be awesome. XD<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2g7x8gu0jgNtMjh-pSWp7PUWFmsK7GuBQaKIoKDt07I5VxjRDX14NlBIabqNfxB9LYO0mEg7B5i_QSaRUJIryAzvbcgocWIBjJ8NsOzFnUcNQI6fKhiHAnHBMgeGqPEhctXCc6GoSlA/s1600/IMG_1785.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2g7x8gu0jgNtMjh-pSWp7PUWFmsK7GuBQaKIoKDt07I5VxjRDX14NlBIabqNfxB9LYO0mEg7B5i_QSaRUJIryAzvbcgocWIBjJ8NsOzFnUcNQI6fKhiHAnHBMgeGqPEhctXCc6GoSlA/s400/IMG_1785.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
I actually took the elevator up the 18th floor of the adjacent building because I thought Guu was up there! It wasn't, but the elevator ride was thrilling and I have never been on such a fast elevator where I actually felt weightlessness!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUWyzI4y0Xspgm_RF0TJQ_g-PYvenSizZdJNYIcpCVlPhaOgMS3YT9iVhSzwI2ogloS7m8E8qMl8zc6BdeZu1OIkXcxS6cQohAkpTeDRG_XPOxNCOhzkCHzcS7fiCXsVOZHawbqwHzEA/s1600/IMG_1786.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUWyzI4y0Xspgm_RF0TJQ_g-PYvenSizZdJNYIcpCVlPhaOgMS3YT9iVhSzwI2ogloS7m8E8qMl8zc6BdeZu1OIkXcxS6cQohAkpTeDRG_XPOxNCOhzkCHzcS7fiCXsVOZHawbqwHzEA/s400/IMG_1786.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
Now, at the restaurant, the weather was so nice that I decided to sit on the patio. Service was quick and friendly. I got the <b>Chopped Tuna "Yukke" on rice with half-boiled egg and ground sticky potato.</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYn6cbkIsG7JNI1PbItiXigD6-OLihNA4C1nlcTf3ibIpFsaRA7JFdjWV7ck6PVK44OXqkt-5HkN81D2ICabdVJ9dzqlGHhMATHj7t0r0IkEjGo0H_a8PC5NkiFJZGAZWNTvSIyN3CfA/s1600/IMG_1789.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYn6cbkIsG7JNI1PbItiXigD6-OLihNA4C1nlcTf3ibIpFsaRA7JFdjWV7ck6PVK44OXqkt-5HkN81D2ICabdVJ9dzqlGHhMATHj7t0r0IkEjGo0H_a8PC5NkiFJZGAZWNTvSIyN3CfA/s400/IMG_1789.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
It comes with a miso soup with a bean curd inside, a few slices of egg plant, little grapes, and some garlic to mash. I really enjoyed the chopped tuna with half boiled egg and ground sticky potato even though I couldn't really taste the egg and potato, it definitely lead to an interesting taste of tuna that was very unique and something I've never had before. It was warm and the mixture was a mushy sort of thing, I liked it.<br />
<br />

Called up my Pad Thai-addict friend and on we went. The restaurant is quite nicely decorated and comfortable. It was a weekday night to pretty quiet.<br />
<br />
Both of us got the Pad Thai and also some Thai Curry skewers to share. The waitress was friendly, however, she seemed impatient when taking the orders...<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAILBBRWmfReWV6qLwZBTYMhyfbAQ4R9whKcWEe7a-9sPfbAbgqyie8fUYPUo9uM7Prsftar_IEVObAFLIYKcK_S-wUhq4wvKuoC7hkIuqx91U5pAmQrSZprGtAKcCy5NJm6c8aIfNkA/s1600/curry.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="219" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAILBBRWmfReWV6qLwZBTYMhyfbAQ4R9whKcWEe7a-9sPfbAbgqyie8fUYPUo9uM7Prsftar_IEVObAFLIYKcK_S-wUhq4wvKuoC7hkIuqx91U5pAmQrSZprGtAKcCy5NJm6c8aIfNkA/s320/curry.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It was beef, lamb, chicken, pork. These skewers were fail... They were probably the worst skewers I've had in this type of cuisine. It was very dry and hard, and it was like that for all the meats... Bad choice.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ-K9g4QMQsaWKypjV_MOyFIN8u_ad2Bmw9zikn-bLIXeqlw6tSTs03sHndc1iEslpe6Qjp_WM8Z0ZZol1t01HeFAohf1AhuL5ahopRMXVYFfiGX-Vn8I5EeJ8zNrvJTTHIB-hDMKXnw/s1600/pad+thai.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJ-K9g4QMQsaWKypjV_MOyFIN8u_ad2Bmw9zikn-bLIXeqlw6tSTs03sHndc1iEslpe6Qjp_WM8Z0ZZol1t01HeFAohf1AhuL5ahopRMXVYFfiGX-Vn8I5EeJ8zNrvJTTHIB-hDMKXnw/s320/pad+thai.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
It's a good thing they redeemed themselves with the Pad Thai, I thought it was above average, I really liked the way they prepared the taste. It had a little ketchupy taste but not too much. The noodles also didn't stick together in one big chunk. The various ingredients provide a nice texture when eating.<br />
<br />

Having been disappointed by the Guu in Denman recently, while having good experiences at Guu Gastown and Guu with Garlic, I was interested to see what Guu ORIGINAL had to offer :).<br />
<br />
Even though it was a weekday night, it was still extremely busy at the restaurant, thankfully we made a reservation!<br />
<br />
We got <b>Last Samurai (tan-taka-tan (Japanese shiso herb vodka), sour plum, shiso), Snow White (soho, calpico, lemon), Aloha Mojito (sake, aloe vera, lime, mint).</b><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-HfLjntLI_wm76DIdSLhA3VLYEFVFZaSp-FmxxhH-WJcHfTREFjYwPKgvNwK6AFucvgUS5UocpaSY-nGAGzflP_XcNa0TTNyRYUcfju4d4-_IkdZvKQEd2Yk5QQNONXLf4okkFOp2cw/s1600/P6140524.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-HfLjntLI_wm76DIdSLhA3VLYEFVFZaSp-FmxxhH-WJcHfTREFjYwPKgvNwK6AFucvgUS5UocpaSY-nGAGzflP_XcNa0TTNyRYUcfju4d4-_IkdZvKQEd2Yk5QQNONXLf4okkFOp2cw/s320/P6140524.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The first item <b>Grilled Chicken Wings </b>was very disappointing! These were probably the worst chicken wings I've ever had! They were wayyyyyyyy tooooooo salty and I hate that bloody taste when it's not cooked enough.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTHxMSRrqoRtQY9Ash79IPcxfEMw8VJTB7vTUcjnybF6hbhC5gLlJQpf5af2cEvHAS1PzYJdZadWffH0e8dzGc9lzy8Ln0VlqI8ocVI5Zb1wDN269FpLuiWo5UMSryCsvqGNLF93abUw/s1600/P6140529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTHxMSRrqoRtQY9Ash79IPcxfEMw8VJTB7vTUcjnybF6hbhC5gLlJQpf5af2cEvHAS1PzYJdZadWffH0e8dzGc9lzy8Ln0VlqI8ocVI5Zb1wDN269FpLuiWo5UMSryCsvqGNLF93abUw/s320/P6140529.jpg" width="208" /></a></div>
Next item we got was the <b>Tuna Tataki</b>. It wasn't as good as the one I had at Hapa Umi ;), but it was till quite decent, I like it when more of the edge is cooked, rather than just the rim, but the tuna tasted fresh to me.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Next item we actually saw the table beside us get it, and we were interested! <b>Sashimi Salad (assorted daily fresh sashimi on bed of green plum dressing and wasabi mayo) </b>I had a few pieces of the different sashimi, and they were all pretty decent and fresh, I really wanted to try the prawn sashimi and sucking the head... but I let my friends have them haha<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRLMf1F4DxcOQbDurRbkl3nwYPqpaSLtO8z0xVHazQLBLaGqkv0E06SnMebNmQZ1ThHSzwNVfxldDJ3sO7ZxnWW1Ifc1SeyINXZb_RIH0UEgcMtPlMM9r-vR6NuZD0452Nv43SQOlbVQ/s1600/P6140528.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRLMf1F4DxcOQbDurRbkl3nwYPqpaSLtO8z0xVHazQLBLaGqkv0E06SnMebNmQZ1ThHSzwNVfxldDJ3sO7ZxnWW1Ifc1SeyINXZb_RIH0UEgcMtPlMM9r-vR6NuZD0452Nv43SQOlbVQ/s320/P6140528.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The next one was my favourite in the whole meal. <b>Grilled Black Cod</b>, I loved this one because the fish was so smooth! It literally dissolves in your mouth, and the taste was perfect, not too salty but still had a good taste to it. My friend complained about too much mayo though.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnWaF3xbG_dpMKAWnwRv-nnkVECVoR0UUwh1jvE3xWI9_hkMwN1IRnOGOHRsFYzgtS4j9288_aXrIRSnI4l3Z408oHeZa0KnvFdxGB0Lhvk2MV2-t6OYUhbXItsHZqFHPFqIefLAzCQA/s1600/P6140531.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnWaF3xbG_dpMKAWnwRv-nnkVECVoR0UUwh1jvE3xWI9_hkMwN1IRnOGOHRsFYzgtS4j9288_aXrIRSnI4l3Z408oHeZa0KnvFdxGB0Lhvk2MV2-t6OYUhbXItsHZqFHPFqIefLAzCQA/s320/P6140531.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The <b>BBQ Eel Rice Gratin</b>, this one was cool because I love rice covered with cheese! and I love eel :) The eel itself was delicious and I loved the combination of the different materials. I liked all the stuff (seaweed, squid strips?) you see on top of dish as well<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW-MSS1rD6nr93jnTDWMZNAxfYxa6_SEL6VLHTBItx_Ly8iUJVWL8jS9W-expZa1UzxPcT9FTpnlRzDSquKknJPNZ6N2VZDBe0FqtBUrwFuC1JHhg4zIwXxW8PyLHJh8CXALmwcKjsCQ/s1600/P6140532.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhW-MSS1rD6nr93jnTDWMZNAxfYxa6_SEL6VLHTBItx_Ly8iUJVWL8jS9W-expZa1UzxPcT9FTpnlRzDSquKknJPNZ6N2VZDBe0FqtBUrwFuC1JHhg4zIwXxW8PyLHJh8CXALmwcKjsCQ/s320/P6140532.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<b>Chazuke</b> is a simple Japanese dish made by pouring green tea, dashi, or hot water over cooked rice roughly in the same proportion as milk over cereal, usually with savoury toppings. This specific one was topped with Salmon. This was definitely something new for me and it was sorta like eating congee but not really lol. I don't know, it's sorta like soup, interesting.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0oKS_caP0NmqxvDCDHpIOi9V3OUxx5cIQnGBG53BIh_HlZFB3FnuEoHTmKS47t89dsE08mC28EmTL5qXvRM_Xntg1PckcSuttQGAD5QFz4YrRsIF0LDqI3R2dpD3jmMh2e8yMerHqhQ/s1600/P6140525.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0oKS_caP0NmqxvDCDHpIOi9V3OUxx5cIQnGBG53BIh_HlZFB3FnuEoHTmKS47t89dsE08mC28EmTL5qXvRM_Xntg1PckcSuttQGAD5QFz4YrRsIF0LDqI3R2dpD3jmMh2e8yMerHqhQ/s320/P6140525.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
All in all, a LOUD place with lots of SCREAMING staff haha, not good for having a conversation with friends (especially new ones!!) because you always have to yell! I still prefer the Guu Gastown before it's better to chat with friends there and I prefer the bigger dishes there :D !<br />
<br />
But I still had a great time.<br />

My first time trying Pho (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pho">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pho</a>)! I thought for the longest time it was pronounced "fo" until my friend told me it was "feh"...<br />
<br />
Never got around to trying it but today was a special day, I don't know why, but when my friend suggested Pho, I eagerly said yes because I've been itching to try it forever!<br />
<br />
Since we were in Downtown, we decided to try Joyeaux. Their menu offers a vast variety of items, from breakfast stuff like eggs, all the way to fried rice! (I thought it was interesting how they just called their fried rice "Fried Rice"). My friend suggested the <b>Beef and Beef Ball Noodle Soup</b> (#2 on their menu), I gladly went along :), I love beef. After ordering from the counter, the food was delivered to our table in less than 10 minutes, great for a quick lunch!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuc2gSk81Xf4od_z9fPS-An4ZSekw-91_yxBYdxt-zqJ-MncTrKNoUjgCkVNt7Q5SY041N8ppp_WMLU6NSB27wBH_0uW8q4z5pRGovuqD-QydXsNvS6T7foNiAC5LY61UxQ6iRb5-3bw/s1600/pho.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="298" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuc2gSk81Xf4od_z9fPS-An4ZSekw-91_yxBYdxt-zqJ-MncTrKNoUjgCkVNt7Q5SY041N8ppp_WMLU6NSB27wBH_0uW8q4z5pRGovuqD-QydXsNvS6T7foNiAC5LY61UxQ6iRb5-3bw/s400/pho.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
Well, here it is, my first time trying Pho! My favourite parts of the item were the beef balls and the soup. Next time I might just get the one with only Beef Balls! The other beef stuff, some were good, some I didn't like the texture because it was a little too tough for me. I found that the beef had a nice beef taste still and was not overrun by the soup. The noodles had a good texture and weren't too soft or hard. I loved drinking the soup with the spoon because it was so good lol, tasted like MSG soup, yummy :)<br />
<br />
Opened my eyes to the world of Pho, I liked this place because it seemed cleaner than other Pho restaurants, will definitely try Pho again in the future! <br />
<br />

I have heard a lot about their famous deep-fried chicken wings. Went with a group of people from work and they were big eaters as well (perfect!). We decided to share the <b>Deep Fried Chicken Wings</b>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOTuokXW7OMIe99o3StyV-hspdPso45pELiHkr9ZyAyC1IV9CHYWfW8ZDVKYE2vndxaZCWNzPYG7BllXjBIU7SDVydPqYRReB8wskB2x6ybdazn0WWefjYY7hrKgQT5Y_fQPYGymudvw/s1600/wings.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOTuokXW7OMIe99o3StyV-hspdPso45pELiHkr9ZyAyC1IV9CHYWfW8ZDVKYE2vndxaZCWNzPYG7BllXjBIU7SDVydPqYRReB8wskB2x6ybdazn0WWefjYY7hrKgQT5Y_fQPYGymudvw/s320/wings.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
I definitely had high expectations because of all the positive reviews. I was not disappointed :). Deep fried perfectly. Dish came out of kitchen right when it was finished because it was still very hot. Very very crispy! Salty, carries a little sweet taste which was interesting and addicting... Only thing is, wish that they used wings for all the pieces because I always prefer wings :D<br />
<br />
Next, we also got our own thing to eat ourselves. I decided to play it safe and go for the <b>BBQ Lemongrass Pork Chop on Rice</b>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV8RJNWnCswRfSav0jpag2JRvMCu2iIcHaH1fqFUxVjJD3T3kRx6UGHcqPTdPSkq41xxfwcgpklDSat9qS4cmFu5kWGmRB_wv-SnWljvT5gtDeN_ViGYIZ53BXBPa2gfFJaSDIW_CeGg/s1600/porkchop.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV8RJNWnCswRfSav0jpag2JRvMCu2iIcHaH1fqFUxVjJD3T3kRx6UGHcqPTdPSkq41xxfwcgpklDSat9qS4cmFu5kWGmRB_wv-SnWljvT5gtDeN_ViGYIZ53BXBPa2gfFJaSDIW_CeGg/s320/porkchop.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Complimentary Soup with the Rice</td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><br /></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
The pork chops were tasty, really love that BBQ taste, but it was a little too overburnt for me. Not very healthy. I also would have liked if the pork chop themselves were a little softer. But I easily finished the whole plate so the taste was good. The soup was interesting because there was a pork bone inside. The soup tasted generic, I scraped off the little meat on the pork bone and did not really like it because I would have preferred tougher meat.<br />
<br />
Will definitely return with people who like chicken wings. Very busy restaurant, go early!<br />

Weekend night, no reservations, all other Guu's full! We decided to try Guu Kobachi on Denman. I have only been to the Guu on Robson and the Guu in Gastown, this is my first time trying Guu Kobachi! We got the last table before the little Guu started filling up as well. I had this meal a few days ago so already forgot about some of the items so please excuse if the description is not very detailed :D<br />
<br />
The first item was the <b>Raw Sea Urchin</b>. This is actually my first time having raw sea urchin, my friend was so surprised! I'm glad that I was with her otherwise I probably wouldn't try something like this LOL. I was hesitant at first, but it was absolutely delicious! I recognized the taste immediately placing it into my mouth, it tasted like the fat orange stuff inside a shrimp/prawn's head. Yummy!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Next was this shrimp salad thing. Sorry I forgot the name. I thought this was so-so. The fried shrimps were good, but nothing special. I don't really like salad stuff... lol</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This was some sort of baked thing. It was actually really good. Recommended. Sort of reminded of those baked dishes at Hong Kong-style cafes.</div>

This one was interesting, it was cool to mix everything together into a bowl and add the sauce. Everythign is served cold and it is quite unique thing I tried.</div>

This was the <b>Chicken Karrage</b>. I didn't like it because the inside was only warm. I like chicken karrage that is more crispy!</div>

The interior of the restaurant is small, but very comfortable atmosphere with spacious tables. I can see they are mostly a take-out place. My friend was craving Thai food so I went along because a few days ago, I was also craving some Pad Thai! I didn't even have to think this time and got the <strong>Pad Thai</strong> <strong>Lunch Special $8 (Prawns wok fried rice noodles with Egg, tofu, bean sprouts and green onions topped with Carrot and crushed peanuts)</strong>. You could choose between getting spring roll or soup. I got the spring roll.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2KfVBPbDzr4E155nVvcuxFNHHu3QXEzg-lNbjH-qCm_GPzJVtkdwmOwIouQe5na7zO4kuG1m9CplA8MiNxLuzGpW9CHV6B1GqXOfHMqOYQ1mxBJ9XF5gK6KXYxIpO951yZqsd84_dGg/s1600/IMG_3760.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2KfVBPbDzr4E155nVvcuxFNHHu3QXEzg-lNbjH-qCm_GPzJVtkdwmOwIouQe5na7zO4kuG1m9CplA8MiNxLuzGpW9CHV6B1GqXOfHMqOYQ1mxBJ9XF5gK6KXYxIpO951yZqsd84_dGg/s320/IMG_3760.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The spring roll was a vegetable spring roll, hot inside, and super crispy, I liked this one; there was sweet and sour sauce you could dip in, it tasted like the ones you get with Chicken McNuggets :). I was disappointed with the Pad Thai because it was a bit too sour for me. I would prefer just slightly more salty. I also thought they could have had more prawns, I think there was only 3! Would have loved if there were more crushed peanuts on top because those add so much more to eat when eating the Pad Thai.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-3XCpiM01T8MBKbkSlCBdmTMPcXAI3qjQt9zv1jsRdtETiJvQKTBfFrzpMcKDUM51_Fug4HD5eu-5Nsk5TUgCd8xNwV6KWQ_rSu2GVyVQcbuegp0MGc48DUBgbpQbSwVhHabR1nIcuA/s1600/IMG_3761.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-3XCpiM01T8MBKbkSlCBdmTMPcXAI3qjQt9zv1jsRdtETiJvQKTBfFrzpMcKDUM51_Fug4HD5eu-5Nsk5TUgCd8xNwV6KWQ_rSu2GVyVQcbuegp0MGc48DUBgbpQbSwVhHabR1nIcuA/s320/IMG_3761.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Also shared a <strong>Thai Chicken Satay $8 </strong>with my friend. I liked this one better than the Pad Thai. The chicken was hot and smooth, dipping it into the peanut butter-tasting sauce was wonderful; I loved the sauce. A little pricy in my opinion though.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Not much has changed in the interior of the restaurant, I only noticed some of the lights have been replaced with new, dimmer chandeliers. The bowls/cups/plates were all clean, good sign.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is the <strong>Dried Pork and Chinese Donut Rice Rolls $4.95</strong>, the rice rolls were fresh and crispy, I liked this one.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipQNp7C16qjVU7JN4-RywQAJ-kcuKLx7i7YKtWlD1TmYpGqeKQOX7gRU6-ZKVupoRAkF-qSMCpxQcyR9Z3pSdle6GigjKUGJGBSDhzJbT3cHvVa7ZZiN6WKdYcPHgjC7MRnc9t8gEifw/s1600/IMG_3743.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipQNp7C16qjVU7JN4-RywQAJ-kcuKLx7i7YKtWlD1TmYpGqeKQOX7gRU6-ZKVupoRAkF-qSMCpxQcyR9Z3pSdle6GigjKUGJGBSDhzJbT3cHvVa7ZZiN6WKdYcPHgjC7MRnc9t8gEifw/s320/IMG_3743.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Next was the <strong>Pan Fried Turnip Cake w/XO Sauce $6.50.</strong> This dish has exploded in popularity at dim sum restaurants over the years, the square shaped ones are rare these days... Some of the pieces were a little too burnt, not very healthy. But the taste is good.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE2vjfrtxQhTtQxIJiXZe7MAgPTPxM0-QAQyZ1_7cs0jDoE3nOTPwE8hRHriNdbo6a0sXPUmk6djlm8akLUkxw7BpHCeGVy7ioxMWg8ywP1Umsqo7S82QzQ7HnDienG2RhqwzbDV63wQ/s1600/IMG_3744.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhE2vjfrtxQhTtQxIJiXZe7MAgPTPxM0-QAQyZ1_7cs0jDoE3nOTPwE8hRHriNdbo6a0sXPUmk6djlm8akLUkxw7BpHCeGVy7ioxMWg8ywP1Umsqo7S82QzQ7HnDienG2RhqwzbDV63wQ/s320/IMG_3744.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This one is the <strong>Home Style Fried Egg Plant Stuffed w/Prawns $4.95</strong>. This is one of my favourite dim sum dishes. They were pretty huge and came sizzling hot. The prawns had that bouncy feeling when you bite into it. Good.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDtxx86UfQkfuaJPmdGGEW3g43qoeF4NF3ixBtafdr-uuqz3YBEpoGn8wW4Bmr77ttaom62AOr0IhmSQ2pWRyzqBV15WkkXy2t8HACrNVgcEpLsXQJxR1Qdu8dtREE3A96XGUu_6pXjg/s1600/IMG_3745.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDtxx86UfQkfuaJPmdGGEW3g43qoeF4NF3ixBtafdr-uuqz3YBEpoGn8wW4Bmr77ttaom62AOr0IhmSQ2pWRyzqBV15WkkXy2t8HACrNVgcEpLsXQJxR1Qdu8dtREE3A96XGUu_6pXjg/s320/IMG_3745.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
This is the standard at every dim sum meal, the <strong>Steamed Pork Shui Mai w/Fish Roe $4.95.</strong> The shiu mai was almost the size of a fist. There is a combination of fat and not so fat meat. Some people prefer the smaller, less-fat shui mais, it's personal preference.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0JSn5bxN1wISOrkj3jDnZAJPEYf15qJwUrXdSCZfmloP-JhtGrn3SjisXHdxI0OemJHF0L1_zOuYITwuikwYLbfZ1UcdPg7QQEliZBqMlkFnSv_VGjr9x_WSiO8COKDRC-rWtpVLJ7A/s1600/IMG_3746.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0JSn5bxN1wISOrkj3jDnZAJPEYf15qJwUrXdSCZfmloP-JhtGrn3SjisXHdxI0OemJHF0L1_zOuYITwuikwYLbfZ1UcdPg7QQEliZBqMlkFnSv_VGjr9x_WSiO8COKDRC-rWtpVLJ7A/s320/IMG_3746.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The <strong>Deep Fried Tofu w/Crispy Garlic $6.50 </strong>was a popular item at Kirin, they have brought it back at Grand Palace. The appearance and taste is a little different though. The frying batter is very thick, but fortunately they managed to maintain the crispyness. I would have preferred a thinner fried layer.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOKIZ2t8RFCVL967DUkX8CCZREfW54NhiUQF8_D2txAX7thvfFirjo8ZJHb043wlu00zg3NiG4Wpn9Jsm473OZBBgrxj0V6XcXAfZyKAAQyxdY0o_4z5Nu0FiAqekggjOBqgbVwXnOKg/s1600/IMG_3741.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOKIZ2t8RFCVL967DUkX8CCZREfW54NhiUQF8_D2txAX7thvfFirjo8ZJHb043wlu00zg3NiG4Wpn9Jsm473OZBBgrxj0V6XcXAfZyKAAQyxdY0o_4z5Nu0FiAqekggjOBqgbVwXnOKg/s320/IMG_3741.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
I love fried rice. This was the <strong>Mixed Seafood Fried Rice $8.95</strong>. The portions were quite generous for the price, and the three seafood (shrimp, fish roe, scallop) were pretty decent. Not too oily as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfrH63ucY__d67VKyhgOFBaMRFGodz_MZ5zYj_Ea2yV6Qaouf0S16nxCl05o0NCk5oH5Ehak-6ZzukBZYQG1fCRkidjgDeN4qGr60FcZXidrcaTf4s5PvLAHyXep2GwDfFldim83Mmzg/s1600/IMG_3747.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfrH63ucY__d67VKyhgOFBaMRFGodz_MZ5zYj_Ea2yV6Qaouf0S16nxCl05o0NCk5oH5Ehak-6ZzukBZYQG1fCRkidjgDeN4qGr60FcZXidrcaTf4s5PvLAHyXep2GwDfFldim83Mmzg/s320/IMG_3747.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The last one is the <strong>Braised Beef Brisket & Tendon w/Rice Rolls $7.95</strong>. I love getting this dish at restaurants because it has all of my favourite items. The beef brisket was soft and had just the right amount of fat. The rice rolls contained all the flavors of the beef. I liked this one.<br />
<br />
Compared to Kirin, the food items aren't as "detailed/precise", but the food quality is still pretty decent. I will try their dinner next time I'm in Coquitlam. I found the price alright.<br />
<br />

After seeing this new restaurant open a few months ago, I have always wanted to come and try it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw5o0FcuJcau6bTXcOEs-SfCo8IYhDtP8H4zQimukCilYt9M0sci3Tn7pEGU8yCQZ6QivS2FG5xT2Xl9duyW_6i68TtHZFVmgeBdxI_m_9LPZyMPFZieYUWzw_s5PbqtuZFgHpMbh7Ww/s1600/IMG_3731.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw5o0FcuJcau6bTXcOEs-SfCo8IYhDtP8H4zQimukCilYt9M0sci3Tn7pEGU8yCQZ6QivS2FG5xT2Xl9duyW_6i68TtHZFVmgeBdxI_m_9LPZyMPFZieYUWzw_s5PbqtuZFgHpMbh7Ww/s320/IMG_3731.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The dishes we ordered were all my favourites that I always try whenever I try this type of cuisine. I noticed that the tables around us were all mostly ordering the same items lol... The first item is the <b>Pig Stomach Soup</b>. This soup is always one of my favourites because it is very warming on a cold and rainy Vancouver day. There are peppers used to make the soup so it tastes "hot" and warms your throat. The stomach was chewy and soft. Good.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTQQz9gGRNL5k3i0-MRjib3MNr02NXW1zMZvaUj92t8olhmmwzhcGZUDCk8LPT6P6-0fNLTu1BOd8doslc0ORmPz-uN_d2ZX2YaoSS_DLSx9BLE8Bu1Zn49vvifMRkeBJX6pgVrxj78g/s1600/IMG_3732.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTQQz9gGRNL5k3i0-MRjib3MNr02NXW1zMZvaUj92t8olhmmwzhcGZUDCk8LPT6P6-0fNLTu1BOd8doslc0ORmPz-uN_d2ZX2YaoSS_DLSx9BLE8Bu1Zn49vvifMRkeBJX6pgVrxj78g/s320/IMG_3732.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
The second dish is the <b>Oyster Omelet. </b>This is one of my favourite dishes out of all food, so I have to get this dish if it's offered at the restaurant! The dish consists of an omelette with a filling primarily composed of small oysters. There is another style of this offered in Taiwanese restaurants, however, I much prefer this style. I liked this dish.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA8d93qWraCKQWu6a8C9aPqb09GpttZS28jd1mp2HSx5UjWHp_EwQyPBk09ZrK-xEIotjNRyn3bqwZCQJfY9RYAUmohrwJUfZanJPXUBc05GOthSK_4yT5DRKOPxiYdbQob0573pQAKw/s1600/IMG_3730.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhA8d93qWraCKQWu6a8C9aPqb09GpttZS28jd1mp2HSx5UjWHp_EwQyPBk09ZrK-xEIotjNRyn3bqwZCQJfY9RYAUmohrwJUfZanJPXUBc05GOthSK_4yT5DRKOPxiYdbQob0573pQAKw/s320/IMG_3730.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Next up is the <b>Braised Goose</b>, this dish was a miss. I found the meat to be too tough. At other restaurants, the goose meat is usually easier to chew and more similar to duck texture. I like that better.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5sD5kf6qVV3GlElc9m9prVTt712ufHuyvPNQkLKDJdfIeIZounqArtqLuD-IQ_rv5dJqK-UbdWA72aKjCIBqenT1ZfqMScUtg4pIuUvSrcMjmSUD5pDmrQi8uarPfkhuNKCzLmYADNQ/s1600/IMG_3733.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5sD5kf6qVV3GlElc9m9prVTt712ufHuyvPNQkLKDJdfIeIZounqArtqLuD-IQ_rv5dJqK-UbdWA72aKjCIBqenT1ZfqMScUtg4pIuUvSrcMjmSUD5pDmrQi8uarPfkhuNKCzLmYADNQ/s320/IMG_3733.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
Lastly, we got the <b>Chicken with pepper & crispy basil</b>, I love these crispy basil leaves because as their name implies, they are so crispy! The chicken was chicken breasts and I liked the taste (sauces) of it.<br />
<br />
The most disappointing aspects of the meal were the rushed feeling and the price. The restaurant itself is very small and we were given the bill before even asking for it (while still eating the dessert), the food came really fast and the whole meal just went by lightning quick. I thought the price was too expensive for the rushed atmosphere of the restaurant. The food and service (multiple dirty plates/bowls/cups) did not really distinguish itself to me as being worth that price.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIfwf5hZ1OzX0NZ8grRQIO2OqxkLkks35Np5yiJqz2_ZBJEaLvr3tvSmFg_OzYRKsWOuVEpoiB2ERcrNIG3MVw6fsyyBy4XSB1MJhELgIeYnROZIyuqAv-9wJLgLB4jwKXtTF8ggP_FQ/s1600/IMG_3663.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinW43jebCFWNeuWQF79LqnD_5IE677sckCs-Cm7K0KorlDZF4rHOWUodf4TGwTY-O8Dt5_oKwEoZhJbmNd8XBM3VLm27pxbR-8PlOJfVNcA8Mw2XkxFOqt52k9Xnhmtyc71fvTihN-Gw/s320/IMG_3664.jpg" width="239" /> </a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Had some errands to run in Downtown before going to Stanley Park to learn how to bike! I thought that I would need as much energy as I could muster. Was at first going to try the new Meat and Bread over on Pender, but after seeing the long lineup earlier, I saw a bunch of food trucks along Howe Street right beside Robson Square. I was sooo hungry so just decided to try Pig on the Street. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIfwf5hZ1OzX0NZ8grRQIO2OqxkLkks35Np5yiJqz2_ZBJEaLvr3tvSmFg_OzYRKsWOuVEpoiB2ERcrNIG3MVw6fsyyBy4XSB1MJhELgIeYnROZIyuqAv-9wJLgLB4jwKXtTF8ggP_FQ/s1600/IMG_3663.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIfwf5hZ1OzX0NZ8grRQIO2OqxkLkks35Np5yiJqz2_ZBJEaLvr3tvSmFg_OzYRKsWOuVEpoiB2ERcrNIG3MVw6fsyyBy4XSB1MJhELgIeYnROZIyuqAv-9wJLgLB4jwKXtTF8ggP_FQ/s320/IMG_3663.jpg" width="239" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Only after, did I realize that Pig on the Street was one of the newest street food vendors in Vancouver. The weather was gorgeous and there was tons of "seating".</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYbIBsqLylr92LcmNV5EOuwPzR9_Pr81EH-qwue4x0IEUNu-QNM7I9fESuvl-rsBpTTuylk_f0m9zMNhwGHY22lyPgkOE7uPfmyB5s5ZV4-JbfMQxpCH2NCvY9n8qh_NuqFbqJ7Um9MA/s1600/IMG_3666.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYbIBsqLylr92LcmNV5EOuwPzR9_Pr81EH-qwue4x0IEUNu-QNM7I9fESuvl-rsBpTTuylk_f0m9zMNhwGHY22lyPgkOE7uPfmyB5s5ZV4-JbfMQxpCH2NCvY9n8qh_NuqFbqJ7Um9MA/s320/IMG_3666.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">There were also huge lines for the vendors. Once I placed I order, I probably waited around 20 minutes, if this was quicker, I would give this even better score... After you place the order, you are given a small piglet with a funny name on it. When the name is called, you go pick up your food!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnSYfOX9k9XAuiBMaNK89Qq_9q_kXS7Lk2q-LmjFxbqeVGBV02of1e9RglaliFik0RUlUVXQ39ptzbUwMjqSXXOn9Se2xq3efrF_CtsaAO0yLxQUcuoypYpbn_hP0ATPAYhM-KWjv8mQ/s1600/IMG_3665.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnSYfOX9k9XAuiBMaNK89Qq_9q_kXS7Lk2q-LmjFxbqeVGBV02of1e9RglaliFik0RUlUVXQ39ptzbUwMjqSXXOn9Se2xq3efrF_CtsaAO0yLxQUcuoypYpbn_hP0ATPAYhM-KWjv8mQ/s320/IMG_3665.jpg" width="239" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">I decided to try <b>The Porker </b>(double smoked bacon, sausage stuffing w apple & sage, goat gouda, caramelised onion mayo, greens). The food truck specializes in bacon. And when I took my first bite.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpfGV-nttzQnyZ8KwWtYUEzL2IdPf6hve5JDDUrjXzzRSVWCZbfCRnZsuppopexsPYTOm4m3EHdZlck6bo2ZP64WNzR7mfN9KrST3Y80kA7FMSrF8W6o9BiKMiSD897QdRqoTO7A84Ww/s1600/IMG_3668.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpfGV-nttzQnyZ8KwWtYUEzL2IdPf6hve5JDDUrjXzzRSVWCZbfCRnZsuppopexsPYTOm4m3EHdZlck6bo2ZP64WNzR7mfN9KrST3Y80kA7FMSrF8W6o9BiKMiSD897QdRqoTO7A84Ww/s320/IMG_3668.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">MY TASTEBUDS WERE IN HEAVEN! The bacon was so crispy! yet not too burnt. As you see in the picture above, the goat gouda starts off as little bits.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrWwW9GZDletEfGLzAmbkr50FDnuOGUdEflOXXipWc8i76HyTL9g6xkgHeGuPTzUfctsVcKv-yqNo9jBvnB_tTDmt3b0pgsCkthAjAzaT9FeU9Jv5LMAxOJKxg6AlPG4ndC9dLnvxGBA/s1600/IMG_3670.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrWwW9GZDletEfGLzAmbkr50FDnuOGUdEflOXXipWc8i76HyTL9g6xkgHeGuPTzUfctsVcKv-yqNo9jBvnB_tTDmt3b0pgsCkthAjAzaT9FeU9Jv5LMAxOJKxg6AlPG4ndC9dLnvxGBA/s320/IMG_3670.jpg" width="320" /></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">After a while of eating, it melts completely into the flatbread sandwich, yummy! The sausage stuffing complemented the bacon perfectly by not stealing much of the bacon's taste. I liked the green (sorry don't know the name of the vegetable ^^") because it added a unique taste to the sandwich.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">Highly recommended, must try this for lunch at least once. (Go on a sunny day to enjoy the beautiful "outdoor patio")</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span></div>

They are famous for their Famous Boneless Hainanese Chicken. The restaurant appears to be family run and the employees there are attentive and friendly. The inside design is clean, comfortable, and spacious.<br />
<br />
We had the <b>Curry Beef Brisket with Roti Prata Bread</b>. Switching to the prata bread from rice requires an extra $1, the curry goes excellent with rice as well.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I loved the butter taste of the roti prata (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roti_prata">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roti_prata</a>). It was warm and chewy :D. The curry was spicy! I mixed it with the rice that came with the Hainanese Chicken as well as the roti prata, delicious! I wished the potato was softer though. The beef brisket was soft and fresh.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhInfoKtunBFCBA9WpEFbUzhf2ceRMJGzTpIv0Pf_C2t8QS23iP6lJOSJTl7Wp9VPRu1FZtI2NQGNWYWCpqf4uy-3N1UJQwOIe7SpbuyrlP1rnAk_mC3PZPklIzCBPX39f1TBmXuB5hiQ/s1600/P5130327.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhInfoKtunBFCBA9WpEFbUzhf2ceRMJGzTpIv0Pf_C2t8QS23iP6lJOSJTl7Wp9VPRu1FZtI2NQGNWYWCpqf4uy-3N1UJQwOIe7SpbuyrlP1rnAk_mC3PZPklIzCBPX39f1TBmXuB5hiQ/s320/P5130327.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
We also ordered a <b>Char Kuey Teow (Fried Flat Noodles)</b>. This one was again spicy, so don't order it if you can't handle spicy. The shrimps were fresh. The noodles did not stick to each other and the taste was just right, not too salty. Good mix of noodles with other ingredients.<br />
<br />
Now for the <b>Famous</b> <b>Boneless Hainanese Chicken</b>. <br />

The chicken was very smooth and tender. I decided to not get the traditional oil rice because I wanted to be healthy... In the last picture, you can see the gelatin layer of the chicken between the skin and the meat; I was watching a documentary on Singapore recently and apparently that gelatin layer is very important for the traditional Hainanese Chicken! Looks like City 1 got it right. The chicken comes with two dips, I love the ginger-garlic sauce and I could eat a whole bowl of rice with just that...<br />
<br />
A great place for traditional Singaporean & Malaysian Cuisine.<br />

Never been to this restaurant before so was excited to try out the BBQ meats. Went there around 3pm and the restaurant wasn't busy at all, easy to grab a table during this time. I heard from the waitress that during peak times, waits can be very long.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">My friend and I decided to randomly order from the happy hour menu and see how the food is. There is a $15 minimum charge per person so we had to order at least $30 of food before taxes.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">The restaurant and seating was very comfortable and clean. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. She asked if it was our first time to the restaurant and explained how the menu worked, offered recommendations for different items on the menu, and showed us how to cook the meats.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: medium;">We got the <b>Bistro Harami</b>, <b>Chuck Kalbi</b>, <b>Pork Belly</b>, and the <b>Garlic Mushrooms</b>. I can't remember which picture was which one, but the three meats were absolutely delicious. There were three different sauces that you could dip, a spicy, sweet, and forgot the last one. But even eating the meats without any sauces was delicious because they were so juicy. The mushrooms was actually a wrong order, but I didn't want the waitress to have to bring them back, so we kept them; mushrooms are not my favourite food... but they tasted good grilled and with the garlic.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: medium;">The <b>Takoyaki </b>was my least favourite out of the items. It just didn't have that much texture, the octopus inside the ball was not bouncy in the mouth. I also didn't like the temperature the dish came in, I did not like that it was lukewarm.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">Now for my three favourite dishes. The <b>Chicken Karrage, Fried Garlic Noodles, </b>and <b>Spicy Tuna Maki.</b> The Chicken Karrage was very crispy and the meat was soft and smooth. I especially liked how they also had the fried chicken skin which was like eating potato chips.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: medium;">For the Fried Garlic Noodles, it came in a sizzling hot stone bowl, and the noodles themselves were filled with garlic taste and delicious. Only con? left a garlic taste in my mouth for a few hours... lol.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtrauInesKTRu70jZLDOEWEnxDBn7_33b1pUfSHijOPqoMbsCP8YZkfhqJlqg3u65J2hAXO2Pi-1eWnr2aWohDOAHpW-_wPqd8ji68ea8Qn385McPJfBYXzT89zYvNPgZpgX8i-qL_2A/s1600/P5090322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtrauInesKTRu70jZLDOEWEnxDBn7_33b1pUfSHijOPqoMbsCP8YZkfhqJlqg3u65J2hAXO2Pi-1eWnr2aWohDOAHpW-_wPqd8ji68ea8Qn385McPJfBYXzT89zYvNPgZpgX8i-qL_2A/s320/P5090322.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;">My favourite dish in the whole meal was the Spicy Tuna Maki. It came with square pieces of seaweed to wrap the rice and tuna inside the eat, sort of like a tortilla. The tuna was just the right level of spicy, and had a refreshing cool temperature. The rice was soft and sticky, like sushi rice. The seaweed was crispy. All together = delicious :)</span><br />

The restaurant itself was quite nicely decorated, the candle-lit tables created a nice ambiance. I could tell that most of the patrons were hotel guests though :). I started off with the <b>Manhattan Clam Chowder</b>. It was my first time having Manhattan-style Clam Chowder, this was actually my favourite item in the 3-courses surprisingly :). It was rich in tomatoes, bacon (yum!), and clams (yum!). The bread was disappointing because it was so hard it felt like eating a rock almost!<br />

Next, was the entree. My friend and I decided to get different entree so that we could try each others out. I ordered the <b>Spaghetti with beef & chorizo meatballs, tomato sauce & garlic filoncini</b>. This dish was really bland, the spaghetti didn't taste anything special, it tastes like something I get out of those microwave meals. The meatballs were nice and juicy though. I wouldn't say it's "bad", just very standard fare.<br />

My friend ordered the <b>Wild Mushroom Ravioli with a lemon caper sauce</b>. This one was ok, I didn't really like the taste of the mushrooms and the peas though. The peas tasted really salty but maybe that's what it's suppose to taste like, I don't know, but I didn't really like it.<br />

At this point, I wasn't expecting much from the desserts, but let's see what they give us because both desserts look good on paper :). I got the <b>New York Cheesecake</b>. The presentation wasn't very decorated, the cheesecake itself didn't taste fresh compared to other cheesecakes I've had. The bottom of the cake was a bit too soft for my liking.<br />

all-day breakfast cafe in North Vancouver. I chose to try Moodyville in
the morning with my friends before heading up to Grouse Mountain to hike
the Grouse Grind. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">How this place works is when you go into
the restaurant, you first order the food from the counter. Then the
cashier gives you a stand with a number on it, and your food will be
brought to your table when it is ready. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">It was around 11am on a Monday morning,
the place was pretty busy. The wait for the food was ~15 minutes, which
is not really ideal if you are in a rush, but otherwise is okay. </span><span style="font-size: medium;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">I got the <b>Eggs with Hash + Toast with Sausage</b>. Good quantity and very filling. Sausages were delicious, wasn't too salty. Toast was not hard and easy to chew. Scrambled eggs were not the best I have had, they were a bit too overcooked for me, I would have preferred smoother egg. Some of the Hash was burnt.</span><br />

first time having authentic Indian food. I was peer-pressured by my
friends to try it, and they actually took me here, so let's see how it
goes.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVCnO0Mp5hS7IEpz87ZIYjKfM0KkNbona4KsGKcvCVfF80mP2-SQXvMgZZ2_ZVU2GE_oIoGbjDoFy7Oql8f-b5Kgu8EQZcxXll8GbJuFai0cGsoKwBOYsA2Ko-X21HzWBL9G9zh7emFw/s1600/DSC01166.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVCnO0Mp5hS7IEpz87ZIYjKfM0KkNbona4KsGKcvCVfF80mP2-SQXvMgZZ2_ZVU2GE_oIoGbjDoFy7Oql8f-b5Kgu8EQZcxXll8GbJuFai0cGsoKwBOYsA2Ko-X21HzWBL9G9zh7emFw/s320/DSC01166.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;"></span><span style="font-size: medium;">I was not really expecting this ambiance
when my friends said we were going to an Indian restaurant, but this
was much better than I expected. The restaurant seems pretty clean and
the washrooms were clean too (always a good sign). I really liked how
they had many decorations from India on the walls, really made it feel a
little like I'm eating in Mumbai.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">I had a hard time picking what I should
eat because essentially, the whole menu was foreign to me. I can not eat
spicy, so I just randomly picked something off the menu. It was good
that you can choose whether you wanted Mild, Medium, or Hot Spicy. Of
course I picked Mild.. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: medium;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: medium;">I had the <b>Mango Chicken Curry with Rice and Naan $15.95 </b>which was chicken cooked with mangoes and spicy curry. Curry was not too spicy for me. Rice (I guess it was Indian rice) was really unique because I've never had this type of rice, they were each separate and did not stick together. Naan was not too soft or hard, perfect hardness for chewing. The taste of the curry was just right, it was really good eating the curry with the rice, the tastes complemented very well. However, the chicken itself was a little too rough for me, I would have preferred younger/smoother chicken. </span></div>

<span style="font-size: medium;">Almost everyone chose the sirloin steak
as the main course haha, everyone likes steak because we probably don't
have it very often. It was mildly disappointing that we did not have the
famous Seasons view of the city because we were placed in a back room
with no view at all... I tend to think that the view is part of the
Seasons experience, so it was a little disappointing to have no view...</span><br />

<span style="font-size: medium;">I don't really like salad and cheese in general so I don't have much comment for the this except that it tasted fresh.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: medium;">This is what everyone was waiting for
:). The steak was prepared medium for everyone. I really liked the
potatoes; I basically like any type of mashed potatoes... yum... At
first, I ate each piece as I cut it. This tasted good, but not as good
as when I just decided to cut all of them into little pieces, then
proceed to mix them thoroughly into the demi-glace sauce... it was... so
good.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: medium;">My favourite part about this pie was the
crispy layer on the top of the cake, that was pretty cool, it was a
slightly burnt crispy layer.</span><br />

I usually like this type of Asian food.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;">I had a look at the lunch menu online
and already decided on what to get for myself :) Upon entering the
restaurant, I was impressed with the interior. It was a nicely decorated
setting.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_UE-XU2xottm5cIFe9XPFLhR3ZZTVVSVStVDbP2pMHkpXT1EzD958AahC4iYtqoayDYGJhHlbRo7l74eb057pTs03TF50mUnC8EkFsXSxXhB7ZzLjke3B8-KDixJGgqJNmfHv_eTwDA/s1600/IMG_0097.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_UE-XU2xottm5cIFe9XPFLhR3ZZTVVSVStVDbP2pMHkpXT1EzD958AahC4iYtqoayDYGJhHlbRo7l74eb057pTs03TF50mUnC8EkFsXSxXhB7ZzLjke3B8-KDixJGgqJNmfHv_eTwDA/s320/IMG_0097.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;"></span><span style="font-size: medium;">The fish and shrimp cakes along with
some other snacks could be added for a few dollars with a lunch item. I
found both the deep-fried cakes to be excellent. The whole cake itself
is almost all the meat itself. They also came hot!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiii4go8PAoEnSAHkaCl-2w1c_4RU4pEHWqdUZZp-jP1nw-rImD8ib8yz_70s2Qim6iZ5-dhe6fIapN5PKA1c7C0tJq-8psH95zrvWUe2BIn669dq6pYkubxZ4TMBpEFumngiKSjEkwog/s1600/IMG_0095.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiii4go8PAoEnSAHkaCl-2w1c_4RU4pEHWqdUZZp-jP1nw-rImD8ib8yz_70s2Qim6iZ5-dhe6fIapN5PKA1c7C0tJq-8psH95zrvWUe2BIn669dq6pYkubxZ4TMBpEFumngiKSjEkwog/s320/IMG_0095.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: medium;"></span><span style="font-size: medium;">If I remember correctly, the second item
was the Singapore Laksa with Grilled Chicken, I only had a piece of the
pork chops, and it was very good; the taste of the chicken was
excellent, it definitely felt that a lot of "firepower" was used to cook
it.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: medium;">Next, was the <b>Pineapple Seafood Fried Rice</b>.
I actually wanted to get the Pad Thai (maybe next time) but we ordered
the wrong item... The fried rice was excellent as well, the seafood
ingredients were fresh, and I liked that there wasn't any rice sticking
together or anything... It could have been fried more, but I felt it was
good enough.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: medium;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Beef fillet with egg on rice $10.50
<span style="font-size: medium;">Lastly, we got the <b>Beef fillet with egg on rice</b>,
the presentation was really nice. What was special about this one was
that the beef was really good; it's easily the best tasting beef I've
had in a while. I think it was the combination of the sauces and oils
used to prepare it. Cutting the egg yolk into the rice was also a
satisfying feeling.</span><br />
